A novel capability to be implemented in the RETINA Simulation™ which does not exist in Eclipse

In a session with experts of reservoir systems and studies departments of NISOC Mr.Sharifi deputy CEO of ESTD Introduced and elaborated on a new feature to be implemented in RETINA Simulation™ described as Block to Block interaction.

During this session, he mentioned the merits of utilizing this feature in simulation and simultaneously exchanged ideas with the attendees. We express hope based on the super capabilities of the RETINA Simulation™ developing team and technical knowledge of NISOC experts we could fully implement this feature in RETINA leading to the enhancement of simulation of our reservoirs. For more information about this feature :

This technology, can be used in naturally fractured reservoir with a big gas cap volume or under gas injection inside gas cap, re-imbibition and capillary continuity phenomena have considerable effects on the volume of drained oil from matrix blocks inside fracture network. In gas cap of fractured reservoir where fracture network was filled with gas phase and matrix block contain oil phase, some portion of drained oil from top matrix blocks into fracture, enters inside bellow matrices due to capillary pressure. Matrix blocks are not completely separated from each other in reservoir condition. A small connection between matrix blocks causes capillary continuity, that may provide fluid communication between partially or completely isolated matrix blocks. Capillary continuity increases the height of the continuous fluid column in a reservoir and the recovery of oil, since the gravity drainage efficiency is dictated by the height of the fluid column.
